Event organised by the ETF and UNESCO with the collaboration of the ILO, EBRD and UNICEF
On 21 to 25 June the European Training Foundation organised, jointly with UNESCO, an online event entitled ‘Building lifelong learning systems: skills for green and inclusive societies in the digital era’, which will take place from 21 to 25 June 2021. Read the conference conclusions!
The conference, which was organised with the collaboration of EBRD, ILO and UNICEF, had a double objective: to create a forum for joint reflection on national and international experience in transforming education and training systems into lifelong learning, and to confirm priorities for future cooperation in the area of human capital development against the backdrop of global developments and challenges such as the Covid-19 pandemic.

On Thursday 24 June a high-level session saw the participation of: Cesare Onestini, Director, European Training Foundation; Nicolas Schmit, Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, European Commission; Stefania Giannini, Assistant Director General for Education, UNESCO; Patrizio Bianchi, Minister for Education, Italy (G20 Presidency); Branko Ružić, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development; Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Georgia.
On 25 June the ETF also unveiled the three winners of the ETF Green Skills Award, which will represent the best stories in skills development that empower the green transition.
